I created a new set in the sample manager. I'm now trying to import some .WAV files. Every time I try to import one of the .WAV files I receive the message "Format Not Supported!". At the top of the error message window it says "Wav too big". This set of WAV files is between 6 and 70 MB each. I tried the smallest and that does not load. I have the model set to Pa4X (400MB).
I then tried importing some smaller sample loops that I have (average size 1MB) and they also fail with "Format Not Supported!". This time the message at the top of the error box says "8/16 Sample Rate".
I thought all WAV files should be supported, as long as they fit within the memory available. Is this not a valid assumption? I am using V3.1 build 4630 on Windows.
I've attached an example for each of the 2 types of failing WAV files.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Multiple errors trying to import WAV files into sample manager (V3.1)
Hi,
Well, the keyboard accepts Only 8/16bit as long as the SampleSize doesn't exceed: 1048576 Samples.
Depending on Khz this is generally between max of 1-2MB.
The files you're trying to import: AC_12Str85A-01.wav seems to be 24bit and Rain-sound-5.wav seems to be 5.96MB.
So, you'll need to convert all 24Bit wavs to 16bit and lower/cut the size to less than 2MB.

Re: Multiple errors trying to import WAV files into sample manager (V3.1)
Hi,
I agree with what you are saying. I now see in the owners manual where it mentions that only 8 and 16 bit samples are supported.
What confused me was that I was able to load both of the samples into the Pa4X via the touch screen menu. I had not read that section of the manual yet. Both of the samples also sounded good when played via the keyboard. I did not realize that it was truncating the longer sample though. Here's some screen shots that show the loaded 24-bit sample.
I will convert them to 16 bit and truncate the longer ones as suggested.
Thanks
Steve

Re: Multiple errors trying to import WAV files into sample manager (V3.1)
It seems the keyboard is converting the 24bit to 16bit and trimming the other one.
Perhaps the software could do the same in the future.
